EU: Titanium dioxide

EU Commission Regulation No. 2022/63 of 14 January 2022 significantly amends Annexes II & III of Regulation No. 1333/2008 concerning the use of food colour additive titanium dioxide (E 171) .
In light of the conclusion of EFSA about its safety when used as a food additive, it is deemed appropriate to remove its authorisation in foods.
